Dear Dr. Wallace,

After an exasperating delay the local photographer has at last sent me photographs of Kensington Cottage, Usk.

There are two winter views — up and down the river — and one summer view, ie., the near one.

If you like I will get them mounted as a series, and [2] I should be glad if you would accept them as some slight token of esteem from a humble to a distinguished Uskite.

You may be interested to know that for many years an aunt of mine — she belonged to the Nichols family — lived at the Cottage. I learnt this only within the last week or so.

Might I ask the favor of a photograph of yourself, signed.

Yours sincerely | John A. Buttery [signature]
