Dear Dr Wallace,

I enclose the will of Elizabeth Roberts.1 I have been to Somerset House today & have searched the registers from 1836-1844 for the will of John Roberts.2 Among the many persons of these two names I selected two who died in Surrey within those years, but they did not prove to be the right man. I also had another look for Sutherton Roberts3 the elder, also in vain. Had he any other name? The registers only record one name Christian name. There was a William Roberts whose will was proved in Nov 1821 & a John Roberts of Surrey whose will was [2] proved in May 1822.

I will write to the registrar of deaths at Epsom.

Roberts (née Greenell) Elizabeth ("Eliza") (1813-1890). Second cousin of ARW; lived in Epsom, Surrey. Married Sutherton Roberts (1747-1821).

Roberts, John (1776-1847). Married Mary O’Hara (1789-1865) in 1811. First cousin once removed of ARW.
