Dear Sir

I take liberty to forward a clip from the leading Journal of this City. The writer is Col[onel] Van Horn² who is a close student of Phenomena and Enquiries in general concerning whys[?].

I am an obscure person, in [the] world of letters and exploitives [sic] ; yet withal, I have been a thinker, and close observation has enabled me to solve enigmas of life, without one hypothetical venture. Whatever I have succeeded in clearing away must previously held in the ambiguities, no longer tremble in scale of uncertainties. I took no step in excess of analogical datum, but instead of beginning on the surface, I crept under curtains of Nature. What I am about declaring has much interest for you, an earnest and most honored worker, with adjunctive nobility in your nature to boldly face [the] consequences of expressed opinions.

I will not pose for a moment commentatively on the declared doctrine of that kind of Evolution which prospectively yields chance of monkey becoming man. What I have to remark to you concerns your future fame, whether it shall wane and become as a dead microbe or endure to remotest posterity. Kindly lend your attention then on your own account in order you may receive new ideas and build thereupon durably, holding to whatever is logical in your acquirements and avoiding the speculative. M^r Darwin wrought[?] mentally on externals which at best have only negative relation to organic structure [2] underlying. So scanty has been that distinguished worker[']s results obtained, that he started premises of Evolution without its precedent In[?]! No Evos[?] without their Ins[?]. Involution first which accompanies sexual process, the Exolutions follow — out of one body laid aside, to exhibit the next, previously underlying in its own atmosphere. One example will suffice, Take the common moth tribes. The larva

— ghost or specter [sic] 1^st stage — becomes caterpillar by Exolution or out of its first body form, that is ^to second stage for that species of [1 word illeg.]. Next Chrysalis as third condition and fourthly we have the butterfly developed. Same with frog and all organisms. The same law appertains to grain of wheat which is involute placed in darkness of Earth womb, exoluting its stem — leaves, flowers and fruitage. In all these Exolutions are apparent metamorphosis, including form states — there is no change in species — of grain or more sentient creature[.] The grain represents its own kind in perpetuities — and the moth also. Here I call your attention respectfully to the double dual process or twos and fours of all things. Ancients and moderns worked [1 word illeg.] or triangles, and omitted the fourth gradation which is the positive state or dynamo. Zollna[?] got a glimpse of the fourth power, which he named dimension, but he could not define its position in detail. There is a progression of species by development of the [1 word illeg.] or [1 word illeg.] — to the 4th degree corresponding with the form element — a body form of each element to be alternately shorter off as per Mortho [sic] &c, which being of lower order in nature and of terrestrial mentally[?], exhibit their form development on Earth. [3] but the higher vertebrata only exhibit two bodies that are recognizable with our Earth and Water optics[?] — no further can man see with his Eye in excess of Earth and Water Elements of which the Eye lens is composed adapted for terrestrial use — This optical limit conforms to the stage or probation of life we are now representing as men. This is our second stage — The first was in womb, in the darkness thereof, representing that state of nature the [illeg.] to light, and so, all germs begin in darkness for progressive development to light. The lowest Condition in Nature has to be developed first — therefore with growth of planet, the lowest creatures came first, and when all negative or inferior states of life had been gradually developed, then Man was brought. The black man first as lowest mentally. — His square is totally negative, that is his family only occupies[?] three points of a square — which latter [sic] has no positive, — This may seem to your assertion[?] only, but be assured I can demonstrate on blackboard (all I say) by illustration — The red man came next denoting that hue of light and he had three on his square — He is the Nimrod to Kill off ^families Excessive life [sic] and burn the forest, to clear the way for the higher man, Chinaman — the mechanic and spiritual Hindoo — these races belong to the same square but located on different angles thereof. The last man to appear was and is dominant white corresponding to Sun light of Mind and Electrical Energy. He the last to Come as Conqueror, Ruler — builder, Creator[?], all races die out before this positive mind force. This man has all the corners of his force [4] square represented by families of that square completely because this Order of man is the only positive mentality, The Crown of all the Squares. I'll illustrate a little to conduct you to the points of postulation. ^{3, 4}

The olive man think[?] department — associated with air! the 3^rd negative element[?] and negative to sum!

The fourth square of white man all the angles in the intellectual completely occupies upper squares. Has four external senses organs — sight, hearing, smell and taste. [1 word illeg.] the inner sense is nerve system upon which soul telegraphs.

This square never before devised — each square has its import and would fill many pages to explain.^{5, 6, 7}

This progress demonstrates One Involution two Exolution to await the third Exolution from Air to Sun, which will not be till Positive Man leads the way after teaching positive Laws of life and Nature — hitherto represented by Negative Minds[.] Therefore all our previous teachings were typical of the mentalities engaged — To the negative conditions the negative minds [illeg.] up to the status of Bhuddist or Brahmin spiritually[.] Now is the period of positive mind action that could only be represented by the higher order of man — as the whole represents. Yet he has his 4 gradations of intellect also — represented by the points in his zig zag form. In epitomy [sic] like this, I must omit many clues, But I mention these salient points to set you thinking again — so as not to commit yourself too [illeg.] theories. Remember Man has a body form for each natural stage — The placenta for water and darkness[.] The present body for earth & water[.] These are most physical pair[?]. [2 words illeg.] man has body corresponds to air — outlines same as Earth body — But for Sun form, there is the [1 word illeg.] which extends along [1 word illeg.] to hips. [6]

This is the most innermost[?] form and contains the [1 word illeg.] pair — no life without pair and the sexual act — brings the double duals together as man two and woman two. — When they form Elemental negative force are engaged in producing a form to represent [1 word illeg. crossed-out] their own qualities, therefore man and all creatures have these elements, quantity [1 word illeg.] represented[?] — according to dual[?] status in Nature.^{13, 14}

Now dear sir. As your perceptions are far ahead of Darwin — do not commit yourself wholly to his doctrine that Monkey — might be Man. Never yet in the whole economy of Nature is there any trace of such Mutation. On the contrary I see all races holding to their original type — Soul pair Man — Comes out of womb — out of Earth form — out of Air body and out of Sun body ultimately and remain unaffected in essence, tho[ough] enhanced by the contact with the respective form negative Element by passing through them by constant representation — thereby to learn negative laws of each and so govern them ultimately when all associations have been accomplished and the experiences gained.

What you teach truly and will be before you. the speculations of ancient Syllogists and Scholasticism leave their warnings for you. You have got a repute second to none make use of it. Those who applaud you now are the ignoramus, [1 word illeg.] of schools. If my suggestions are of any use, they can be supplemented. Remember Now fame is not so desirable on Earth so much as in Air, where the permanancies [sic] have a hold[.]

In a work we migh conjointly write, what a fortune physically. Your name would go down to mingle with Eternities. The Exo[illeg.] can be shown to Material Eyes — E[illeg.] to greater minds [8]

As Man is Model of all things as anciently stated, without a definition in that way in form of details — These details I can supply. Spiritualists having advanced to Air department of knowledge limitedly know this far essociably [sic].

No Contact in Air can give those things I have shown you in preceding pages — The Mediums at present are mostly negative — they are not [illeg.] — being mostly dependant on their controls &[?] those Controls receive no instructions from higher or low spirit. All augments of Knowledge must originate in physical or earth and water life — where the saintilations [sic] of thought weave individual webs. Materialists can be comforted; "here for life and nothing more" by the one fact, that 'tis more obvious that this is second state of Existence instead of first. The great discriminations did not distinguish this fact. This double life seems an incorporation as of Earth in Water. Water the Magnet and the cause of gravitation of all things being the Elemental Mother or magnet to draw all things to her bosom and in her Mold; form them. Earth is her own product formatively therefore her negative — ^{earth and water} the duals most ponderous[?]. Much more belongs to this association, but time is up. — Merely for me remaining to say — that Sun and Air as the sublimate pair — Air being the negative of Sun as Earth is to Water[.] Water the female & and Mother Element & Magnetic drawer Sun the Malo[?] — who cometh in spring time to quicken[?] by igneous or Electro actions sexually. Although I allude to spiritualism I am not a controlled Medium — A spirit never told me anything in way of solution to problems, I solve my own as I see them — in Man in Air and Sun and then find the Analogies in Earth and Water Physics. I see normally into Sun and Air and discovered that sun [9] begets sons and daughters — but not in the way Swedenborgen¹⁶[sic] says. A comet is offspring, then becomes planet by development, as own moon is but a babe drawing from the breast of this Earth Mother — suckling its young — thus the moons actions on the tides.

Astronomers have much to discover yet — They mourn over the waste of light and heat of the Sun distributed in unoccupied space — no such waste occurs — light and heat comes on the zig zag funnel — from Sun to Water — and water sends back her quota magnetically through her funnel — the spots on the Sun are results of great Electro-Magnetic action — at funnel ends of Planets [sic] connections with sun. They are his waves within orbits. Whoever finds north pole will find a pelvis[?] at the cone point — filled with water or water frozen —

Geologists Call the World a Sphere, 'tis Ovoidal — They also name it Earth Sphere! 'tis not, it is Water sphere at least 3/4 being Water — Nature operates — Cones or obtuse and acute angles — no rigid right angle — Her functional organics[?] squares are those in Man — with negative with negative and positive points vide ¹⁷ then divided twos and fours, she has but little use for equal sided squares.

Trusting these things may [illeg.] you, and convince those who rush into print are not the only thinkers[.] — Spencer[']s[?] ¹⁸ works as reflected[?] will have no readers 50 years hence[.] [9]¹⁹

If I have to write it under my own name, The world would not [2 words illeg.] for years perhaps, but would sure to take hold and keep there forever at some time in future.
