Returning from the country I find your said invitation to spend with Tommoro[w] evening, Friday, 15th with you,and Mrs Howitt2 and myself shall have much pleasure in accepting it.

The year "1869" is written in blue crayon in ARW's hand at the upper right-hand corner of the page. However, Howitt writes in the letter "Tomorrow, evening, Friday 15th [Feb]". In 1869 that day would have been a Monday, in 1868 a Saturday, and in 1867 a Friday.
Howitt (née Botham), Mary (1799-1888). British poet, translator; married William Howitt in 1821.
