Dear Sir & Master
I have safely received the proofs of both your volumes. I cannot express in words my thankfulness and joy before your kindness. I must now to read them over attentively in order to get an idea of how to arrange the separate articles in one volume. The Expressions of Speech ought to be a very interesting study, but at the first glance I am afread[sic] it is difficult to give your idea <on?> foreign language. Of course we in Russia have in many cases the same psychology and physiology of the language. But I am not sure yet, whether it is possible to translate it correspondingly. I did not read yet, however this article, I tell you my first impression at the first glance. Meanwhile the theme is very interesting. I hope you will kindly help me during my translation.
Heartily yours.
