A short time ago the proprietors of the Boy[']s Own Paper1 asked me to paint them two subjects of rare Butterflies for coloured plants and supply them with short articles to accompany the same.
Will you kindly accept the copy I send herewith as a simple tribute from one who has derived untold pleasure from the results of your great work in this branch of natural History. I also include a photograph of my Academy Picture this year.
