Jan 8th 1901. George Edwards Comerford Casey2 — 'C.C' to Dr Wallace.)

Where mortals dwell; where owners claim the ground;

Where foemen threaten; there my First is found.

Kings to my Second bow, & numbers yield;

So mighty is it when it takes the field.

To all who study Nature, far & near,

My Whole is known:

Friends of Humanity the Same revere,

And Master own.

C. C.
