W.B. Hemsley Esq.1

Dear Mr Hemsley,2

I am now preparing a new solicitor of my "Island Life" and shall be much obliged if you can refer me to any additions to, or general account of, the flora of the Galapagos since your "Report on Insular Floras". Also if there is anything of importance more recent on the Madagascar flora, than Mr R. Baron’s paper [2] in four of Linn. Soc. Vol XXV.

Also I shall be glad to know if any recent account, in English or French, of the flora of Celebes, has been published.

Excuse my troubling you, but I known no one but yourself who is sure to know of all the recent literature on this subject.

Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
