My dear Clement Reid

A Reviewer in "Science"1 noticing my paper on "The Gorge of the Aar",2 says that many Swiss Geologists have proved that certain Alpine Lakes are due to subsidence or deformation, & especially refers to Aeppli's3 Essay on Lake Zurich.

Can you tell me in what book or periodical I can find an account of these proofs, — in English or French? And if you have copies of any of [2] them will you lend them to me.
