Letter (WCP1501.1280)

[1]

Frith Hill, Godalming

June 1st. 1884

Dear Mr. Windust1

I just write a line to say how pleased I was with your letter in the "Echo" in reply to Mr Tebbutt. It was clear & forcible, & most excellent both in style & matter, & must do good

Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

P.S. I could not give evidence (to the Commission) as they would put me down at once by asking me what I know personally about the houses of the poor &c. &c. They would not hear opinions as to causes. That might be brought in if I a witness has facts [2] to begin with.
