20 High Street, Lowestoft

August 18th 1884

Dear Mr Windust,

The enclosed has been forwarded to me here. Please attend to it. Will you also please send a copy of — (1) Report and address, (2) "The How and Why" etc. (3) Programme, (4) Rules — to — Grant Allen Esq., The Nook, Dorking. I saw him lately and I think he will probably join us.

Please write on all copies of "The Why and the How of Land Nationalisation" — you send out — "A Reply to Prof. Fawcett" — which [should] have been printed on the cover.

Yours faithfully| Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

P.S. I have had a letter from Mr [McLardy], Provisional Secretary of the Scottish Land Restoration League asking for reasons for my criticism of this method, in my address, and I have written him somewhat fully on the subject. He says they are thoroughly in concert and will modify their programme if I can show them they are wrong.

I am here till Sept.4.

If any papers or letters arrive at the office, and to you or Mr Ley for me, please open, and if only official do not send to me but reply to yourself.
