My dear Sir1

Your kind invitation to stay with you next week while I am lecturing has been forwarded to me here. I should have been glad to accept it but have already promised to stay with my friend Mr Albert G. Browne.2

I have requested that my Diagrams be sent from Poughkeepsie, where I last used them, to the Societys [sic] Office, and I will myself call at the Hall on Tuesday morning & see them properly hung. Thanking you for your kind invitation.

Daly, Charles Patrick (1816-1899). Passed the New York bar examination

and joined a law firm. In 1844 he was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas of New York, remaining with it until his retirement in 1885.

Browne, Albert Gallatin, Jr. (1835-1891). American journalist and editor. ARW stayed with him whilst in New York in October 1886 and January 1887.
