My dear Miss Macdonald1 -

Many thanks for your kind remembrance of me on my birthday.2 Owing to a sad defect of taste I never eat shortbread!! But nevertheless others highly appreciate it. There is a phrenological reason for my deficiency. Violet3 will explain it –

Liquids- Sea—Soup - gravy. Large!

Solids— Bread, Dry foods etc. Small
