My dear Miss Macdonald

Many thanks for your kind remembrance of me on my birthday. Owing to a sad defect of taste I never eat shortbread!! But nevertheless others highly appreciate it. There is a phrenological reason for my deficiency. Violet will explain it. Liquids-Sea— Soup-gravy. Large! Solids— Bread, dry foods etc. Small Q.E.D.
