[1]

Fircroft,

8, Park Town,

Oxford.

Nov[ember]. 8th 1913

My dear Mrs. Wallace1,

So my dear dear old friend has passed on, to know all that he so longed to know. I feel glad that he was not long ill, & worked up to the last. I only bought the "Revolt of Democracy" a few days ago. I do wonder what he is thinking now, I should so [2] like to know, but I feel sure when I too pass on I shall find him.

And now about you all. Life has still to be lived & by & bye I shall want to know, what you are going to do. I know your legs are troubling you, & I hope you may be able to stay where you are.

Give my warm love to Violet1 & Will1 & tell them I should like to know [3] any plans they form. I do not know where the funeral is to be, but unless you particularly wished it, I would rather not associate with him anything sorrowful. I want to think of him as he always was, & will be for me.

Goodbye dear Mrs. Wallace — you have the memory of a long & useful companionship with him & I know Will & [4] Violet will take care of you.

Yours lovingly | Arabella B. Fisher [signature]

I cannot but think of him with dear Bertie.
