R. H. Chandler Esq
Dear Sir
I do not know any book [one word illegible] of the subject you name as a whole, though there are references to parts of it to most works on the Races of Man. I have touched on it in my "Studies Scientific & Social" Vol. I, chap. XIX. XX. & XXI. Also in two chapters on the Antiquity of Man is my "Tropical Nature". The immense & unknown antiquity of man in most parts of the world renders it impossible to trace [2] his early migrations & variations.
Yours very truly | Alfred R Wallace [signature]
