Rosehill, Dorking.
August 24th. 1876
My dear Griffith1
After I wrote to you I had a note from Lockyer offering to set up my Address at once & make all necessary corrections &c., ready for publication in "Nature".
I therefore let him have it as this will save the Association "correction" expenses, — & his column of type is rather easier to read than yours.
I shall also have the [2] advantage of making any corrections that may occur to me, a[nd] be printed out, subqsequent to delivery.
Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
G. Griffith Esq.
P.S. I suppose you will not want a proof till after the meeting. ARW.
