A. R. Wallace Esq.

Dr Sir,

After your great kindness in sending your book which I find most interesting I felt that I must go to the Plateau & find a <series?> for you.

This evening I sketch in & by your accceptance of a half dozen of the "dispised and regreted."

No 2. Is one of what I name Body Stones

A traveller came to see me, one who had travelled in Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & the West Coast of Africa & had crossed the Atlantic 19 times.

Seeing one of these he said "This is a body stone."

Why so?

Because I have seen many such used by the natives. They rub the hard skin of the sole of the feet. remove the scarf skin &c. & if stone is scarce make such of burnt clay.

It is my dominant group, many series in possession. Unfortunately these did turn up in [1 word illeg.] at first so that Pa Prestwich did not see in Entirity.

In my <pots?> of 1984 ([2 words illeg.]) in those days by myself in 96 & two now being sunk I find [1 word illeg.].

With best wishes for the New Year | I remain | Yours truly | B. Harrison [signature]
