My dear Will
If you will consider that I wrote under the impression that Portheim was a stranger to you till you met him at Seimens’ you will see that there is nothing unreasonable or suspicious in my letter. Both Max & Violet1 are astonished to hear he is an old friend of yours. Both thought from your letters that you had never spoken to him before.
Of course as you know him well, I am quite pleased that you should be with him [2] to make any arrangements you like. I dare say Miss Chof — will be satisfied with 2 weeks notice.
