The Assistant Secretary R. S.
Dear Sir
In accordance with your communication of the 8th. Just I by to send over leaf a statement of expenses in copying Dr. Spruce's1 Letters & Journals up to date. The "Journals" have been copied by numbers of my own and Mrs[?] Slater's family, at less cost than if a regular copyist had been employed. If any further particulars are required I shall be glad to send them; but if these are sufficient I shall be glad to receive the £10 kindly contributed by the Royal Society.
Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
