Letter (WCP1929.1819)

[1]

[5 December 1869]1

Dear Mr Wallace

I enclose a diminished photo from Mrs Camerons [Cameron]2 but it looks heavy & unclear. I like best the profile of Ernest Edwards3, or a 3/4 face vignette which Messrs Elliott4 & Fry5 (Baker St) & which is a strong likeness & pleasing are now making some copies of for us, but I cannot send you one, or one of Mr Edwards’. [2]6 You see I am anxious that Mr Darwin should be becomingly represented.

With very kind regards to Mrs Wallace7 | Yours very truly | Emma Darwin [signature]

[N.B. an enclosure of WCP1928].
