March 27. 1912.

Professor Alfred Rusell [sic] Wallace.

London.

May I be permitted to send you the enclosed literal re-translation into English of your thanks to the Colorado University., — and from your therein expressed delight in seeking to solve the mysteries of nature. I thought I might take the liberty of enclosing a couple of copies of a pamphlet by me, which I think will greatly interest you, current ice-palingenesis — "Frost Flowers on the Windows".1

Since I wrote this 1899. I leave noted down a few more such examples, which I hope to publish later on (although I am now 73 years old) which will further illustrate and [illeg.] the origin of [2] such displays.

In central Sweden, where I live, double glasses in the windows are generally used which prevent these fine ice-palingenesis. To frequently be seen here, which else one would expect. However Canada will very likely furnish excellent opportunities of observing such. Chicago was most excellent as only single panes of glasses there are used in abodes and shops.

In 1882 I wrote: "The Floral King: a Life of Linnaeus",2 published by W. H. Allen and Co London 1888, in which a reference to palingenesis is made by Linnaeus, quoted in my pamphlet, — and is added to the Library of the Linnaean Society, — for which reason I address this letter c/o L. S. as I don't know your private address.

With profound respect

Sin[cerely], I am your humble servant | Albert Alberg [signature] Littérateur.
