Dear Mrs Wallace,

The thoughtful kindness of Mr & Miss Wallace yesterday left one nothing to do but step into the train, & [2] changing at Poole for the first & last time, I had a swift and pleasant run home, i.e. to London.

I am very grateful indeed for your kindness in allowing me so long [3] an interview. As I thought last night of what he had said to me about the true and natural kind of society, and listened to babbling around me (such as one reads in the newspapers), I felt his utterances were [4] like the harmony of perfect music, & the common talk around like the noises in the street.
