My Dear Dr. Wallace,
I think you could have sent (failing your own presence) nothing better for the Democratic Convention, than the what I have from you with your of 21st. This I am sending in to the Secretary of the Convention (the editor of Reynolds, Mr. Thompson, who wrote you), & hope, with his assistance, not only to read it at the Convention, but circulate it in other ways.
[2] I await your new book with interest, and will, where I have opportunity, make it known and appreciated.
Believe me, | Ever yours truly, | John C. Kenworthy [signature]
P.S. Perhaps it will be best for me to make your pronouncement the staple of my own address, & thus enforce[?] it.
