Sir
I do not know whether I am other than the first in calling your attention to the epithet enter it[?] applied by you to the genus Hyomoschus (fen. Dirt vol. i p. 120). The myology of this animal has lately been the subject of investigation (Chatin — Animales des Sc. Nat. 5e ver. [2] Zool. et Pal. tom.xv. (1872)). This paper — referred to by myself [1 word illeg.] (P. 3. 5. Feb[ruary]. 1. 1896) has been also referred to by Prof. Flower (P. 3. 5. March 16.1895 — p. 181 of part ii for that year —); in this latter paper various other observations in the mineral sostelogical[?] characters of Hyomoschus will be formed.
Your own segment — on page [3]6 xiii of your preface must be my apology for troubling you with this note.
I have sir | The honour to be |Your very faithful servant | F. Jeffrey Bell2[signature]
A R Wallace Esq.
