Reg[en]t's Park.

July 3. 1878.

Dear Sir,

Of recent works anent the Philippines I only am acquainted with three worth mentioning: one, Jagor's, published by Chapman and Hall; another, Semper's six lectures, in German, read before the Geographical Society at Berlin: lastly the Consular Reports, published in the yearly Blue Books, beginning from 1866.

I have none of these by me here, or would willingly place them at your [2] disposition: but MacMillan, (who is, I suppose, your Publisher) could, I doubt not, easily procure them for you.

From Spanish publication, though often inexact, much may be collected worth noting. But I am sorry that, having no house or home of my own in England, all my books are stored away at H[?]. 5. King & Co in the City, nor can be got at without difficulty and loss of time.

With much regard I remain ever | yours very faithfully | W. G. Palgrave1[signature].

To the left of the signature is a stamp depicting a crown encircled by the words "British Museum".
