My dear Sir
In a note addressed to me to Buenos Ayres [sic] some eight months ago you asked me if I could send you the seeds of some hardy plants[.] At the proper season a friend who knows something of botany of which I am very ignorant collected a few which I have brought over with some of our so-called "Air-plants"3[.] These are very hardy and thrive well in [sic] our verandahs [2] in garden railings, or indoors[.] The thermometer frequently falls to freezing point sometimes to -2 [degrees] C[entigrade] but these plants are uninjured[.]
Will you kindly let me know the best way of conveying the parcel to you —
Believe me | Yours sincerely | John Coghlan [signature]
