BRITISH MUSEUM (NATURAL HISTORY),

CROMWELL ROAD,

LONDON: S. W.

July 8th 1889

Dear Wallace

There will be a great deal of talk at the meeting of the British Association at Newcastle (Sep. 11th) about natural selection &c. Romanes1 & others are going to read papers & it is very much hoped that you may be present.

[2] I have just read your book2 with the greatest interest & pleasure.

Why do you not come and see what we are doing here & convince yourself that [2 words illeg] "Darwinism" is not altogether excluded from the national natural history museum?

Yours very truly | W. H. Flower.3 [signature]
