In answer to your request, addressed to the Assistant Secretary I send you, herewith enclosed, a copy of the Report of the Darwin Memorial Fund committee, and an extract from the Council Minutes of the Royal Society.

These two documents will, I think, together give you the history of [2] the foundation of the Darwin Medal.
