My dear Sir:
I was invited recently by the editor of Nature to prepare a notice of your life for their series of "Scientific Worthies." I felt as I proceeded with the account that there are certain portions of your work with which I am not sufficiently familiar to really do
you justice. I however prepared the paper with a great deal of care, and I trust that it will on the whole be gratifying to you.
I have recently read with great pleasure your reply to the memorial address to you on your birthday by the students of Colorado College.
Will you not be kind enough to aid me by sending me a copy of the list of your writings? So far as I can find there is no bibliography.
With best wishes for your continued health and happiness, believe me,
Always faithfully yours, | Henry Fairfield Osborn [signature]
President.
