Dear Sir:
For several years Harvard University has had a research laboratory here for the experimental study of Evolution. My own paper being along botanical lines, I cannot hope that any should have come to your notice, but I hope that you have heard of the word of Prof. Castle.
I am writing to ask if you would be so good as to have a photograph of yourself send me for our our laboratory. I feel that the sight of even the photograph reproduction of the face of so great a master of biology would be a great stimulus to the researches of our professors and students. The favor would be highly appreciated.
Very respectfully yours | EM East [signature]
