Did you or he have the camera in sight during the whole time it was in M^r. Duguid's⁵ house before the pictures were taken?

yes, we had the camera from 3. p.m. M^r. Duguid got home at 4. pm. The camera was under our continuous observation–⁶

What interval was there between taking the two pictures?

A few minutes. As soon as the first pair were developed and fixed the second pair were exposed.⁷

Were the plates you bought marked before being used so that you can be sure the negatives taken are on those plates?

No I did not mark them — it was not a test seance. But I know the negatives are on my plate —
