Alfred R. Wallace LLD

My dear Sir:

You can well imagine the feelings of an old and long persecuted investigator of psychic phenomena and a writer and speaker on spirit return for over forty years upon reading your paper to the Psychic Congress at Chicago2.

I met the Fox Mediums in 1849. and was convinced at early period that the phenomena was the result of an invisible intelligence. For 43 years I have stood firmly for spirit return and you sir can fully [2] appreciate The gratification I feel in knowing that from a hand full of believers in 1849 we can now number millions in America alone and among these many distinguished people who acknowledge their belief in spirit return.

We expect to make great progress this fall and winter in own materializing circles, one new phase being, that spirits will materialize in full view and write communications in presence of the circle and then dematerialize all in plain sight. I have the pleasure to enclose you an address which I was chosen to write for the "Parent, Fox Memorial Association". We expect to form auxilliary societies [3] wherever it is possible to do so.

Your paper will create great interest. I expect to read it before several of our largest societies.

Sincerely and fraternally │ Yours │ Wilson MacDonald [signature] │ Pres[iden]t Fox Memorial Ass[ociatio]n │ 102 Court St[reet] │ Brooklyn N.Y. │ U.S.A

P.S. as president of the Fox Memorial Ass[ociatio]n we would be pleased to hear from you and would acknowledge, and warmly thank you for any papers, or pamphlets you may be pleased to send us.
