Dear Sir
I have to thank you for your little Book on one of the most pressing subjects of the day & full of interest to me. I have not yet had leisure enough to study it so as to give an opinion upon your idea, but I shall be prepared to talk it out with you if you find yourself [2] able to visit us during the month of September or later, as [2 words illeg.] & I hope you may do. Though we have no fossils for your boy here there is a very beautiful[?] field for research in some cliffs on the sea shore near Christchurch[.]
Believe me | Faithfully | [first name illeg.] Temple [signature]1
