Dear Prof. Wallace
I thank you very sincerely for the trouble you have taken to oblige me with memoranda for my forthcoming book.

I have a lecture[?] to prepare [2] [one word illeg.] give each month, write my own biography & answer letters from all quarters & ends of the globe.
I hardly think I can get ready for publication before offering[?] & I will then return carefully all the papers you have so kindly lent me. I hardly[3] know yet how I may come out as regards [one word illeg.] but I wish I may to be to be able to place your honoured face [one word illeg.] whoever may also contribute pictures.
