Pray accept my apology for not sooner replying about your kindly offer which is "a carnival of perfection" — The delay has been simply owing to the ever-increasing crowd upon me of contributions requiring attention & perusal.

I am very happy to accept it for the XIX! Only if you will not bind me to a definite date of publication — for I think your proposal so original as well as so logical as to ensure a useful discussion in the public mind.

I shall also gladly take your "Inaccessible valleys"1 — with the greatest pleasure — whenever it is ready. Can you tell me when that is likely to be?
