Dear Sir,
I thank you most heartily for your very encouraging and suggestive letter of the 3[r]d concerning my article on "Six hundred years of English Poverty" in the June(??) number of the XIX Century. [2] I will to the best of my ability utilise your hints when I am finishing book on the History of Wages in this country.
I beg to enclose a proof of my diagrams and you will accept it for the present. As soon as I am back from my holyday [holiday] [3] I shall try to get some extra copies of it and I will then send you a better copy.
Yours very faithfully | Gustav T. Steffen [signature]
