My dear Sir
I have to thank you for yours of Feb 142 which I rec[eive]d at Brighton and for the interest you have taken on the subject of my book.3
I enclose herewith proof of the pamphlet4 I before referred to and trust to receive your "foreward" at your early convenience. I trust you will not be disappointed [2] at the smallness of the pamphlet. I trust shortly to be able to publish a 3rd complete edition of the book in which I shall embody your valued suggestions.
I take the opportunity to forward a report of a paper read before our [2 words illeg.] on "Some Concepts Concerning Steel"5 possibly you may be able to spare time to read it & to let me know whether you [3] have heard of such a theory before? I think it is true; do you know of anything which precludes the possibility?
Trusting I am not trespassing too much on your good nature.
I remain | Yours very truly | John Richardson [signature]
A Russel Wallace Esq
