I have your favor of the 181 which I find on my return to Lincoln. Were it not for the [illeg.] of my business which compel me to reside here I should much like to join the scheme but find it impossible for me to do so but [2] I will keep the particulars before for me in case I find anyone able & willing to join.

The enclosed cutting sent me from New York may be of interest to you. In reply to this request in the letter accompanying it I have consented to an American Edition being published by them with statistics in terms of the currency &c[.]
