My dear Mr. Wallace

I have sent to the Assist. in charge at Museum asking him to send you any late Reports which may give any idea of present state of arrangement of the collections.

I have always postponed writing a guide until the Pal. collections are in shape. This has been my dear work and we have only laid out the rooms there is nothing which could be photographed there as yet[.]

The material is merely placed in the rooms awaiting cases etc. [2] and since I have given up the [illeg.] to give my time to my explorations, publications of the results my friend have given that my hoping others would take up the Museum when I left it.

We have not added any cases to the pographical rooms since you saw them the trouble to the photogs is due to the [illeg.] shuterring [sic] which is not apparent when standing in the centre of the aisle between cases & which can not be seen in photogs
