Dear Sir
I find we have an excellent glass positive of the Milky Way photograph by Barnard2 so poorly reproduced in Concise Knowledge Astronomy. Of course the latter is a copy from a copy.
Would it be possible for your publishers to send their photograph hue to copy the glass photograph? I would give them every facility in my power, but I ought to have the permission of the Council [2] for it to be taken away, and unfortunately they do not meet til November. If any accident happened to it, it would be extremely difficult to replace it, as Prof. Barnard is no longer at the Lick Observatory, where, I believe, the original negative is.
Perhaps you would write to your publishers and ask them to send hue.
Yours very truly | W. H. Wesley3[signature]
