Dear Sir
Many years ago I was presented with a copy of your Malay Archipelago by one of my teachers. This book so aroused my interest in geographical distribution that my interest not only increased but it has become a hobby with me and combined ecology has become my main line of interest in [1 word illeg.] work. It is for this reason that I thought you might take some interest in the kind of paper which I have written and I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for this influence which has meant so much to me — in the great pleasure and profit which I have derived from such studies.
Very sincerely | Charles. C. Adams [signature]
In another perhaps I send the paper [2]
