Dear Mr Wallace

I communicated immediately on receipt of your note with the President2 & hope that your friend will have received card for his soirée tonight.3 I understand [2] that it was his intention that all fellows should be asked; & if any omissions have occurred it would have been through mistake, — or more probably through miscarriage or change of address. [3] Had I known the particulars of any omissions, either among the fellows or recipients of medals, — or of any men of science desirous of coming I would gladly have used all diligence to have them[?] supplied.

[4] Very[?] truly | W Spottiswoode [signature]
