My dear Mr Wallace
I send you a photograph of myself in the hopes that you will be able to spare me one of yourself to adorn my Book of Worthies — I am in the [1 word illeg.] of starting for the sunny south — Nice & Italy &c as I am advised to spend this winter abroad[.] [2] I spent a few days with Lord Walden2 this week & am glad to find that he is gradually taking to his favourite pursuits — the best he could have to wean him from his great loss—
Yours very truly | [illeg.] [signature]
