Dear Sir,

It would give Mrs. Stanford1 and myself much pleasure to have you spend the day, and stay over night with us, at our house in Menlo Park2 where we are staying for the Summer.

If you will name the day and telegraph me in advance I will [2] send a carriage to meet you at the station.

I enclose a pass for yourself and Mr. John Wallace to travel over such portions of the State as you may wish to visit, and our Railroad may cover.

Very truly Yours | Leland Stanford.3 [signature]
