So many thanks for your kind note.2 I am very glad you liked my paper,3 and I cannot say how generous I think it of you to write and [2] say so. I have only just returned from a visit to Belgium, where I have been duly writing one of my Historical guides: so I have only just unpacked the book & ex- [3] amined my letters. Therefore I have not had time yet to look at your paper which heads the volume, but I shall hope to do so the moment the press of arrears is over. Kindly excuse [4] dictation, due to writer's cramps, and believe me ever'
