It gives me great pleasure to tell you how prosperous the club is to which you so kindly allowed your name to be given. The membership is now somewhat over fifty, and the members are enthusiastic over the work and over their new club rooms at 415-420 [2] Ellwanger & Barry Bldg¹. Our membership includes many of the best thinkers of Rochester, and we are determined to make a vigorous educational propaganda in addition to our work as a scientific club.

The club would like very much to know where a uniform edition of your [3] works can be obtained. The club has not yet purchased your works, for the reason that we expected a uniform edition to be published soon.

Will you be kind enough to tell us in a few sentences exactly what your position is on the theories of Mr [4] Darwin?
