Dear Dr Wallace,
I am glad you like Julie. All your criticisms are fuel and the book is loosely strung together. But I did it as well as I could in the time.
A three-decker?I don't know.I'm not at all sure I could do one. I'm no good at constructi[ng.] But perhaps some time I will try.
So far I have been obliged to keep my books short as our readers cannot afford more than 2/6 and I have no outside sale.
I have a book [MS torn,MS illeg.] [2] in the Press. They will be called "Tales For The Marines"2, and will have a few drawings in.— all at half—a—crown. Some of these tales are not bad — for me. They have all been in The Clarion, but will look better in the book.
Tomorrow I start away on a five week Fellowship Cruise.
Thanking you for your kind letter[.]
I remain | Yours sincerely | R. Blatchford3 [signature]
