Dear Sir2

I have been asked by Mr. Fortescue3, the Librarian at Windsor to make a portrait drawing of you, for the collection at Windsor. I have done most of the Order of Merit, and this portrait is to be included4.

Will you kindly let me know, if you [2]5 will give me a sitting for the drawing, which will take about 4 hours to finish, and if you will fix a day I will be much obliged.

I am | Yours very truly | W[illia]m Strang6 [signature]
