308 East Grace Street,
Richmond, Virginia
May the 5th., 1909
Dear Dr. Wallace: —
I am sending you a clipping which I hope may interest you, as showing how you are "classed" in America.
You probably don't remember me, but I spent a few privileged moments in your society at your beautiful home at Broadstone. It was during the first week of June, 1907. I remember we spoke of Burbank and his work as you showed me your wonderful garden. I left England for France that same day, but not until I had been to Parkstone and gotten your photograph, which was afterwards forwarded me with your autograph.
I hope you are in the best of health. I was in London last January when you delivered your valedictory before the Royal Institution, but I was unable to attend — something which I regretted then and have regretted ever since.
My kindest regards to yourself and to the charming little lady of whom I caught a brief glimpse while at your house, and who, was, I believe, Mrs. Wallace.
Believe me, dear Sir, | Yours very respectfully & sincerely | Patrick Henry Aylett [signature]
