Dear Barrett2
I gave Wallace's first letter to miss J. who reminds[?] to write to Richard about it, as W. asked. I have [2 words illeg.] y[ou]r further enclosures for which [1 word illeg.] was writing upon writing. The workmanship of the picure is certainly very remarkable. Do you know what a 'copie aux trats' means, & whether 'tracer un tableau[?]' means to take a tracing.3 If so, probably has [1 word illeg.] folk[?] than Raphael might have done it. One [2] w[oul]d like to know if Fabre4 is still alive, & whether Raphael can not only copy his own pictures but also do original work[.]
Sir. I w[oul]d much like to meet Wallace. Doe[s] he even come to London nowadays!
With all best wishes for Xmas | Yours [2 words illeg.] | Everard Feilding5 [signature]
